CNN Launches Digital Studio, Teases News Show For Twitter

CNN is upping its digital video presence through a new slate of original web content. According to the Wall Street Journal, the cable network has launched CNN Digital Studios, which will produce news and culture programming.

At launch, CNN Digital Studios’ main news production will be Your 15 Second Morning, a series of ultra-short clips designed to be viewed and shared on Twitter. CNN is using the program to bring in the eyeballs of younger consumers, who execs hope will watch the series as a daily habit.

CNN Digital Studios is also co-producing a series with Funny or Die

Other shows in the works include a cooking show starring a pupil of Anthony Bourdain, a show starring an ex-NFL player, and several companions for the network’s TV programs.

As with CNN’s partnership with BuzzFeed, the launch of a digital studio is an attempt to make the news younger and hipper. Along the way, CNN will probably pick up some solid ad revenue, too.
