Geek & Sundry Adds Vampire Series With Adaptation Of ‘Morganville’

Geek & Sundry is already tackling superheroes, ghosts, and LARPers. Its latest addition to its upcoming content slate adds vampires to that list. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the nerd-friendly YouTube channel run by Felicia Day will distribute Morganville: The Series, a web and live-action adaptation of Rachel Caine‘s Morganville Vampires book series.

Morganville Vampires, as the title may or may not suggest, takes place in a Texas town controlled by a cult of bloodsucking undead. A handful of the 15 titles and counting that make up Caine’s Morganville Vampires catalog have reached have proven very popular with humans and climbed up the New York Times’ best-seller list. The web series iteration of the franchise will follow the same basic premise and be funded, at least in part, by a successful $75,000 Kickstarter campaign that Caine completed last July.

“It’s an amazing process we’ve gone through to see Morganville come to life,” said Caine in an interview with THR. “The Kickstarter initiative was a way to really involve the readers in making Morganville a reality. We were extremely lucky to have had such great response and enthusiasm from the fans all through this process. I am thrilled that Geek & Sundry now is taking this series to the next level.”
