YouTube Space LA Hosts Monthly Stand-Up Comedy Series

YouTube Space LA is having monthly sleepovers. Or rather, the 41,000 square foot state-of-the-art, video production facility in Playa Vista is hosting a monthly Comedy Night that emcees Morgan Jay, Ty Stafford, and Andrew Lopez have dubbed ‘The Sleepover’.

The trio of stand-up and online video entertainers started a local Los Angeles comedy show called ‘The Living Room’ and partnered with YouTube for ‘The Sleepover’ offshot in January 2014. Since then, the event has been a consistent addition to the massive YouTube Space LA’s lineup of regularly scheduled informational sessions and the occasional celebration, red carpet premiere, and/or fundraiser.

Every month a selection of comically-inclined individuals from both traditional and digital entertainment take the stage in front of a live audience. Last night, on April 2, 2014, the special guests included Jack Robichaud (the Westside Comedy Champion and part of Dead Kevin Sketch), Flula (of YouTube awesomeness), David Gborie

(who tours with Hannibal Buress), Hampton Yount (who’s appeared on a variety of programming on Comedy Central and MTV), and Brent Morin (who’s appeared on Conan and NBC’s UnDateable).

“We always strive to bring together the most creative people in the world to the YouTube Space LA,” Liam Collins, Head of YouTube Space LA, told Tubefilter. “Our comedy nights reflect that spirit, combining comedy creators who are building global fan bases on YouTube with successful comedians from traditional media.”

If you missed ‘The Sleepover’ this month, don’t fret. As I mentioned above, it’s a monthly event. Stay tuned to YouTube Space LA’s Upcoming Events Calendar to find out the details and how to RSVP to spend an evening with stand-up comics the next time around.
