Description: A Better You is a comedy film directed by Matt Walsh, who is best known for being one of the co-creators of Upright Citizen’s Brigade. As you might expect from someone who founded one of the most famous improv theaters in the country, Walsh has built his movie around improvised exchanges. Brian Huskey (billed as “the guy who got decapitated in This Is The End”) plays Dr. Ron, a therapist who has unscripted dialogues with his patients. In the pitch video, Huskey and Walsh demonstrate the nature of these exchanges.

Creator Bio: In addition to his founding role in UCB, Walsh is also a main cast member on Veep, HBO’s critically acclaimed political satire series. This is his second time directing a feature film; in 2011, he released High Road, which was also completely improvised.

Best Perk: For $90, you will receive a copy of the film’s script. Since it is an improvised film, this script will look very different from the average screenplay. I am assuming it is more than just a bunch of blank pages bound together.

Why You Should Fund It: A Better You has already been filmed, and Walsh needs the Indiegogo funds for post-production purposes. This turns the film into a sound investment; it will definitely get made, because it already has been made.

More importantly, though, the list of guest stars is absolutely dynamite. The film’s cast includes Horatio Sanz, Joe Lo Truglio, Riki Lindhome, Rob Huebel, and Adam Pally. As Walsh explains in the pitch video, talented actors act as writers in an improv film, and with that cast, we can expect A Better You to be very well written.
