Tastemade To Make Its Mark On TV Through Ryan Seacrest Productions

Tastemade is the largest YouTube network dedicated to food, and with its latest deal, it is looking to expand its presence off YouTube as well. It has teamed up with Ryan Seacrest Productions for an partnership that will apparently create food programming for TV.

Tastemade announced a plan to expand outward when it raised a $10 million funding round led by Redpoint Ventures. According to TheWrap, the partnership with Seacrest has been a long time coming. “A little more than a year ago, we launched Tastemade to connect the world through food, by bringing diverse culinary voices together to share their passion and expertise for food, travel and more,” co-founder Steven Kydd said in a statement. “Ryan Seacrest discovered Tastemade early on, visited our studio, and shares our passion for food. Moreover, he understands its increasing relevance to pop culture.”

One

of Tastemade’s fundamental issues is the average YouTube user’s disinterest in culinary content. More specifically, the sort of gourmet food preparation featured in many Tastemade videos is a far cry from most of the YouTube cooking channels with significantly large audiences.

TV viewers, on the other hand, love food programming, and the small screen is without a doubt a better fit for Tastemade’s programs. Theoretically, Ryan Seacrest (which previously inked a developmental deal with Fullscreen) utilize Tastemade’s roster of partners as a talent base for TV productions; notable Tastemade partners include Sorted Food, My Cupcake Addiction, and Hilah Cooking.

Even if they don’t quite mesh with the average YouTube user, some of Tastemade’s programs are seriously great. When the network’s slick presentation arrives on TV, viewers are in for a treat.
