Description: Gayle‘s titular character is Gayle Waters-Waters, a suburban mom who just wants the best for her family. Unlike other moms, however, Gayle reaches for this goal by snorting Go Lean Crunch, aggressively power walking down the street, and expelling her daughter for only making salutatorian–and that’s just in the first episode.

Gayle exploded onto YouTube back in April 2012, with the first episode drawing nearly 500,000 views to date. Since then, creator Chris Fleming has released 25 more episodes, completed a small Kickstarter campaign

to help fund his second season, and received glowing reviews from the likes of Forbes and the Huffington Post. “I do know in this era of sitcoms, no major studio has created a stranger, more adeptly archetypal and consistently funnier character than Gayle Waters-Waters,” claims the Forbes review.

Creator Bio: Fleming is a stand-up comedian based in LA, but much of his shtick now revolves around his most famous character. He recently went on a nationwide tour titled An Evening With Gayle Waters-Waters and Terry, which will return to LA on January 30th.

Best Perk: For $200, Gayle and her daughter Terry will Skype you and sing you the Linkin Park song of your choice. If you don’t choose ‘One Step Closer‘, I’ll consider this a severe missed opportunity.

Why You Should Fund It: One marathon of the current Gayle episodes should give you enough evidence that Mrs. Waters-Waters should–no, must–ride again. If for some reason you need more convincing, just remember that funding Gayle with improve your relationship with your own mother, since (and I’m just going out on a limb here) she isn’t quite as psychotic.
