Swedish Chef Food-Battles Gordon Ramsay In First ‘Muppisode’

The Muppets will return to movie theaters when Muppets Most Wanted arrives in March. To hype up fans for the next chapter in the lives of Jim Henson’s beloved creations, Disney will release several ‘Muppisodes‘ across the web. The first one–featuring a culinary battle between Gordon Ramsay and the Swedish Chef–has already arrived on the WWE YouTube channel.

As per usual, The Muppets are charming, witty, and lovable, and they’re joined by the usual cavalcade of guest stars. Ross Lynch of the Disney Channel makes an appearance, WWE wrestler Mike Mizanin shows up as a health-conscious foodie, and Michael Buffer serves as the food battle’s announcer. Of course, Ramsay takes center stage; his best moment comes when he alludes to the fact that he can’t curse when guest starring with The Muppets.

The Muppets are no strangers to the web. They made several appearances on Nerdist thanks to that channel’s partnership with the Jim Henson Foundation, and even worked with a different celebrity chef when they co-starred with Cat Cora in a cooking web series. Something tells me that the rest of the Muppisodes will have a similarly diverse profile and will be scattered all across YouTube.

Branded content for upcoming films often seems stilted or forced, but not so for The Muppets. They’re as smart and precious as they’ve always been, and all fans should be sure to check out the first Muppisode. And if you’re not a fan of The Muppets? Well, you need to get your head checked. How can you not adore this face?
