Yahoo Sets September 9th As Fall Comedy Premiere Date, Offers Trailers

Nearly fourth months after it revealed a star-studded lineup of original comedy programs, Yahoo is set to bring its new slate into the fore. The #7 online video platform (according to the latest Comscore report) has set September 9th as the release date for its fall comedies, and it has offered up a slew of trailers to preview its new shows.

The most welcome trailer comes from Ghost Ghirls. The supernatural comedy, produced by Jack Black’s Electric Dynamite studio, has been building hype since December, and it is the best contender to follow up the success of Yahoo’s Streamy-winning smash hit, Burning Love. The new trailer looks great and reaffirms that assertion.

Beyond Ghost Ghirls, the public got its first real look at a few other intriguing comedies. The best cast among the upcoming debuts belongs to Tiny Commando

, Ed Helms‘ tribute to the G.I. Joe-fueled war fantasies of his youth. It also stars Zachary Levi and Gillian Jacobs, but judging by the trailer, Helms’ thumb-armed villain, Cesar Pequeño, will be the breakout character.

Other new debuts include Losing It with John Stamos, where the Full House heartthrob will interview celebs about their first times; We Need Help, where Cheryl Hines and Rachael Harris play spoiled versions of themselves who seek the help of an unemployed 23 year old; and The Fuzz, where human and puppet cops fight side by side to bring about justice. At the same time, Yahoo will unlock the Saturday Night Live vault, bringing more than 35 years of sketch comedy to the website’s viewers.
