Disney Channel Goes Ginger With ‘The Coppertop Flow Show’

Calum Worthy is best known for his role as Dez, the offbeat best friend of protagonist Austin in the Disney Channel‘s Austin & Ally. Now, Worthy is more prominently displaying his weirdness in a new web series, The Coppertop Flow Show, which follows him as he goes about an exaggerated version of what is billed as his real life.

The Coppertop Flow Show is set up like a vlog, with Worthy introducing each episode by describing to the audience some aspect of his life. For the remainder of each episode, he exaggerates his experiences at restaurants, beaches, and everywhere in between. The first two episodes of the web series have been released via the Disney Channel website. As with other Disney web series, each installment is short, running for no more than two minutes apiece.

“Our online fans love short form video and this series with Calum, who is so talented and naturally funny, is a great fit for them,” said Lauren DeVillier VP of Digital Media at Disney Channels Worldwide.   “I think they will really respond to his humor and point of view.”

New episodes will debut each Friday on the web, and they will be rebroadcast on TV later each evening. With its brash style, The Coppertop Flow Show would be a natural fit on YouTube. Even so, I’m sure that the young’uns who watch Smosh and PewDiePie are also familiar with Disney Channel content. Plus, you have to admit–even though he’s a ginger, Worthy is pretty cool.
