A new feature in YouTube’s analytics suite will allow creators to dive deep in to their videos and discover the makeup of their fans. Videos, channels, and regions can now be placed side-by-side and analyzed in a single graph.
The tool is usable by both individual channels and multi-channel networks, and the data can be broken down in a number of different ways. “The new multi-line graphs allow you to compare the performance of up to 25 videos, channels or geographies over time in a number of reports,” explained YouTube Product Manager Ted Hamilton in a blog post introducing the new tool
. “This is great for comparing video views, comparing views in different geographies, where most of your subscribers come from, and more.”The graphs are reminiscent of the Trends Map YouTube rolled out earlier this year. Both the map and the graphs hope to capture specific demographic information to keep creators and fans well-informed about who’s watching what. It never hurts to have more tools.
