Warwick Davis, best known for his roles in a number of popular sci-fi films, has started to build a following on YouTube. His Multiverse channel is part of the YouTube Original Channels Initiative, and he has built his profile by appearing in several videos across the site. Most recently, he showed up on another British YouTube Original Channel, Bad Teeth, where he brings in some of his actor pals to help him remake classic viral videos after he accidentally destroys the only copy of YouTube’s biggest hits.
Basically, the video has the same plot as Be Kind, Rewind, except adjusted to fit the Internet age and way more British: After accidentally destroying YouTube’s only copies of its best viral videos and cat videos, Davis enlists his friends to help him remake them before YouTube finds out. Due to his dwarfism, Davis is perfect for the cat videos, while performers such as Idris Elba , Johnny Vegas, Anthony Head, and YouTuber Stuart Ashen handle the rest. Add this one to the ‘grown men acting like animals‘ file.
Like many other videos on Bad Teeth, the end result is a very goofy one. Beyond the main video, each viral video remake has been released separately. This gives viewers an easy way to watch Johnny Vegas’ perfect rendition of ‘Best Cry Ever‘ over and over.
Bad Teeth, which entered the YouTube Original Channels Initiative during its international expansion, continues to post up a storm. If you don’t think Above Average is British enough, our friends across the pond can offer a perfectly acceptable alternative.
