May and June are two of the biggest months for Internet and technology conferences. TV Upfronts and Digital Content Newfronts took the stage in May, E3 is happening as we speak, and Apple kicked off its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) with a keynote on June 10.
Conference speeches can feature lots of interesting announcements, but the good stuff is usually padded with hours of self-congratulatory back-patting from each presenter. Take Apple’s keynote, for instance. While it featured some real news, the presentation lasted two hours, and that’s far too long.
Business Insider agrees. The tech publication doesn’t
think viewers should have to wait to hear whatever silly name Apple has chosen for its new OS. It has released a short video condensing the entire presentation into 60 seconds, giving viewers all of the important information without any of the BS.The well-edited video is reminiscent of a similar series of videos Mahalo released a few years back. I’d love to see Business Insider turn this into a series as well; I can think of some good candidates for condensation, namely every conference presentation ever.
