YouTube Next Vloggers Sport International Flavor, Inspiring Stories

Exactly two months after YouTube launched its Next Vloggers competition, the 15 winners have been announced. In addition to telling the stories, the winners represent one of YouTube Next’s worldliest crops ever.

Out of the 15 vloggers, six are from the USA and six are from the UK, with two more from Australia and one from Ireland rounding out the field. This diverse crowd continues to exemplify YouTube’s growing worldwide audience. Though we often focus our efforts on American content, non-American users still make up the majority of YouTube’s billion-strong monthly viewership. The abundance of international vloggers isn’t an outlier; it’s a more accurate representation of YouTube’s creators.

Beyond demographics, the Next Vlogger winners also sport a variety of different viewpoints, and each one has his or her own focus. Check out YouTube’s introductory video

Sure enough, there are plenty of inspirational channels among the winners, in line with the content YouTube sought when it first announced this contest. Whether its Beckie0, who regularly loses most of her hair to trichotillomania, or Glowpinkstah, who has found a home on YouTube despite struggling with her weight, or thatzak, who has overcome clinical depression, the Next Vloggers should warm our hearts as much as they should entertain us.

Here is the full list of winners:

Our congratulations to all of them. They’re now $4,000 worth of production equipment richer, so expect some high-quality vlogs coming from this group in the near future.
