Making a mark on YouTube requires a combination of skill, charisma, and good fortune, and YouTube wants to help its newest creators unleash the maximum potential of all three of these attributes. The site has launched the YouTube Creator Academy, a channel that will provide free courses for creators who want to make it rain subscribers.
The courses will consist of a series of six explanatory videos spread across two weeks, in-browser lessons that serve as coursework, and, for those of us who really miss cramming for exams, a mandatory final assessment.
The first course will be very broad, as it will teach each student how to “Maximize Your Channel.”
Schools are just letting out for the summer, but there’s no vacation on YouTube. The site hopes that those who want some useful tips will be willing to get back in the classroom. If you’re willing to take that step, you can sign up for the first two-week course right here.
