INDMUSIC Expands To 221 Partners, 1.4 Billion Views

INDMUSIC is out to prove it has a lot more going for it than just the Harlem Shake. The multi-channel music network has agreed to terms with several prominent labels, including TMWRK and Reach, expanding its roster of artists to over 200.

INDMUSIC is a music network (like VEVO), but while VEVO works with the biggest names in the industry, INDMUSIC focuses on smaller labels and independent artists. The company’s biggest success thus far has been its work with Baauer, the musician behind the ‘Harlem Shake’. With INDMUSIC’s help, Baauer continues to monetize hundreds of millions of views. We here at Tubefilter also think the weekly music video writeups they do for us are pretty cool. And no, we’re not biased at all.

The new partnerships show that while INDMUSIC may have its roots in the underground music scene, it is continuing to expand towards more prominent artists. TMWRK’s roster includes top EDM musicians such as Diplo and A-Trak, who already have a YouTube presence through their Potato channel

(co-created by Skrillex) but now have a monetization system in place as well. Another TMWRK artist, Dillon Francis, was recently featured on Must-Watch Music Videos for the crazy, emoji-filled video for his song ‘Messages’. Through Reach, INDMUSIC will work with Grammy-winning rapper Lecrae, among others.

“Musicians generally have a zero sum knowledge on how to properly leverage YouTube which causes a lot of money to be left on the table, or often times in the wrong hands,” said INDMUSIC CEO, Brandon Martinez. “Through our work with indie labels and managers, we ensure their artists have a strong digital strategy and monetization plan on YouTube that is the best it possibly can be. ‘Harlem Shake’ proved that a viral hit can happen in a flash and you need to be prepared.” More information on INDMUSIC can be found on the network’s YouTube channel.
