Gregory Brothers (And Jay & Silent Bob) Declare War On War On Drugs

It’s 4/20, and The Gregory Brothers are celebrating the hazy holiday in style. The auto-tuning YouTube quartet has released ‘The War On Drugs Is A Failure,’ a bluntly titled song featuring clips from several politicians and a special cameo from two of pop culture’s biggest stoners (and no, it’s not these guys).

It’s a Schmoyoho song with a surprisingly poignant political message, considering that the group’s previous drug-related songifications have been silly ditties like this one. This time around, there’s a clearly conscious effort to include both Democrats and Republicans in the video in an effort to prove that the ineffective nature of the war on drugs is the only thing the two parties can agree upon. “To celebrate 4-20,” notes the video’s description, “A bi-partisan panel of politicians somehow come to a unanimous agreement that The War on Drugs is totally effed up.”

To add to the fun, Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes deliver a guest verse as Jay and Silent Bob, two of the film industry’s most celebrated stoners. The appearance represents yet another guest appearance for Smith, who previously has appeared on shows like Epic Meal Time, =3, and What’s Trending. He’s becoming well-traveled on YouTube, and he never fails to wear the same hockey jersey. I wonder if he ever washes it.
