POPSUGAR Goes Live With Daily Streaming Web Show

My Damn Channel isn’t the only online video network that’s going live. A new endeavor from POPSUGAR will bring the celebrity news and gossip site to viewers in a live streamed daily format.

The show is called POPSUGAR Live, and it continues the website’s plan to engage all young adult and middle-aged women on the planet. “Women in our 18-40 demographic came of age in a digital, multiscreen, 24/7 world, and they expect to be able to be informed and entertained at any time and on any screen,” said David Grant, President of POPSUGAR Studios. “With POPSUGAR LIVE!, we are adding an immediate live experience to complement our extensive on-demand programming, so they can come to us at any time to get access to the best in lifestyle editorial content and shopping, online.” Sorry boys, this one’s a girls’ club. Though I guess you can still come in if you ask them nicely.

POPSUGAR Live builds off of an extensive network of YouTube content. Though the POPSUGAR channel has just a shade over 40,000 subscribers, it has uploaded content at a furious pace since launching in 2009. The result is an expansive collection of web shows which boast almost 4,000 combined uploads and nearly 150 million views. This network of fans will allow POPSUGAR to bring all the single ladies (and some of the taken ones, too) to its live show.

POPSUGAR Live airs each day at 1 PM PST and again at 3, giving us two chances to learn the day’s gossip. With the Oscars right around the corner, you can be sure POPSUGAR Live will discuss everything related to the nominees that could be tagged as ‘OMG’.
