Burning Love To Make TV Debut On E! Channel

The second season of executive producer Ben Stiller’s Burning Love will hit Yahoo Screen on February 14th, and we at Tubefilter are plenty excited for the return of its pitch-perfect mockery of shallow reality TV. While season 2 will feature a Bachelorette parody with season one ‘contestant’ Julie as the central figure, season 1 hero Mark Orlando will also ride again–but not on Yahoo Screen. The first season of Burning Love will soon make the move to TV, as it will be broadcast on E! starting in late February.

Burning Love will play for TV in seven sitcom-length episodes, with the first one debuting February 25th at 10 PM EST on E! For the uninitiated, Burning Love parodies the catty, absurd nature of the Bachelor and features plenty of high-profile guest appearances. It’s worth watching, if only because of cross-dressing Ken Jeong.

“E! viewers love clever comedy, and ‘Burning Love’ is a hilarious parody of one of pop culture’s biggest franchises that is perfect for our audience,” said Cyndi McClellan, President of Network Strategy for E! “We recognize that good content can come from anywhere and are excited to bring this popular web sensation to television in a meaningful way.”

Broadcasting web productions on TV hasn’t been a very fruitful endeavor, but Burning Love has one important factor working in its favor: the first season is currently unavailable on Yahoo Screen, and fans who wish to relive the show’s early episodes (especially after watching the second season) will have to turn on their TVs to see them. For this key reason alone, Burning Love could succeed where Dr. Horrible failed.
