Amazon Studios Posts Casting Call For Web Series, Looking For Bands

Amazon Studios wants you to appear in an upcoming web series, as long as you are a real, already formed rock band comprised of 18 to 30 year-olds and live in or very near Los Angeles.

Sande Alessi Casting (which has an impressive resume) recently posted the casting call offering the selected group a $1,600 flat fee for its work on an unmentioned, upcoming “new web series by Amazon,” which begs the question, “For which upcoming web series?”

Amazon is scheduled to release an impressive programming slate, comprised of series with such high-profile brands and talent as The Onion, Doonesbury creator Garry Trudeau, Kevin Sussman and John Ross Bowie

of Big Bang Theory, and Kristen Schaal of comedy gold. Could the band provide a jingle, theme song, or some background music for one of their shows? Or will the group itself be used as background for a scene? Or does Amazon have a Josh Schwartzian web series in the works?

It’s unclear as of now, though interested parties should email a current photo of the entire band and its website address to SandeAlessiCasting@gmail.com with ATTN ROCK BAND in the subject line. And if you get the gig, be sure to let us know what it’s for.
