YouTube Live Stream Of Austin City Limits Festival Going On Right Now

South By Southwest is one of our nation’s great festivals (you may have seen us there once or twice), but did you know that Austin’s second biggest music jamboree is going on right now? Austin City Limits has been happening all weekend long, and it’s going to continue through Sunday night. Yesterday, fans were treated to great performances from an absolutely smashing lineup that included The Black Keys and Tegan & Sara. With more awesome artists still to come tonight and tomorrow, it’s hard to not yearn for the Texas sun if you’re a music fan; however, there is an alternative. The Austin City Limits YouTube channel is currently live streaming all of the awesome concert footage from the festival, and will continue to do so through the end of the three-day event.

The Austin City Limits channel is divided into two sub-channels, with each one offering a live stream from a different act. By checking the festival’s official schedule, you can figure out when your favorite bands are playing and watch them play live for free. With about four acts going on at once at any time, we don’t have access to all of the music at once, but the streams are sure to cover all of the big hitters. Yeah, it’s not the same as being there, but look on the bright side; at least you don’t have to get elbowed by hairy men and sweat through several layers of clothing.

The ACL channel is posting up plenty of footage from previous acts, so don’t worry if you miss an artist you like. There are still plenty of good bands to come today, with evening headliners Jack White and Neil Young & Crazy Horse both set to appear. As for tomorrow, it would take me forever to write about all the exciting acts that are coming on stage, but Freelance Whales is definitely worth checking out in the early afternoon. Two Door Cinema Club will play later in the day, and they’re awesome. For rap fans, just remember that Gambino is a mastermind. And we all love the Red Hot Chili Peppers, who will play in the evening. We do all love the Chili Peppers, right? Or do we need to pass around this video again?

It’s going on right now, so check it out. It lacks the craziness and community that makes festivals so much fun, but it’s great to see so much concert footage available, for free, in one location, and in real time.
