Psy To Perform Live (and Shirtless) On UStream After ‘Gangnam Style’ Success

Psy, the  South Korean rapper/dancer/silly goose whose ‘Gangnam Style‘ video has spread through the Internet like few others before it, will perform a live streaming concert on UStream to celebrate his song’s appearance at the top spot on the Billboard Charts. The concert will air at 8:30 AM EST (9:30 PM local time, for our many Korean readers out there) tomorrow morning on UStream’s seoullive channel.

Psy promised a little over a week ago upon returning to Korea that, “If it rank[s] #1 on the Billboard Charts, I’ll perform ‘Gangnam Style’ topless in a place where most people can watch.” Though the concert is apparently on the schedule, the song is still in second place on the Billboard Hot 100

behind Maroon 5’s ‘One More Night’. However, ‘Gangnam Style’ is ahead of ‘One More Night’ on Billboard’s Digital Songs Top 40, so perhaps that victory was enough motivation for Psy to perform his unique song and dance for millions of fans all over the world.

Billboard has been tracking the progress of ‘Gangnam Style’ while keeping one eye on Psy’s promise. Though they have noted that he is still #2 in the US, Billboard have made the point that the K-Pop sensation is #1 in the UK, which could have counted as far as Psy’s pledge is confirmed. Either way, the event is on, and the stream is embedded below for your viewing pleasure.

‘Gangnam Style’ is already the sixth most viewed video on YouTube with over 357 million views, despite only having been around for a few months. It has spawned a plethora of parodies, and if I shared all of them with you, I’d become old and infirm, so I’ll just give you the Skyrim version and we’ll call it a day. He’s already appeared on several programs (including a popular video where he teaches Brittney Spears the dance on Ellen) but it’s seems as if viewers who want to see Psy’s craziest and most seductive performance will have to wake up early tomorrow to check out his 8:30 AM gig.
