New York Knicks Get a Web Series

Since Patrick Ewing stopped making a day job out of rejecting shots and bringing down boards in Madison Square Garden, the New York Knicks’ dysfunctional head office shenanigans and player’s footwear have proved more entertaining than any of the team’s on court abilities.

For instance, the most exciting news from the Knicks in the past 10 years may very well be the introduction of Stephon Marbury’s fully endorsed, fully functional $15 Starbury sneaker, which the point guard with a yearly salary of $20 million wears whenever he’s on the court.

This year the arrival of basketball superstars Amar’e Stoudemire and Carmelo Anthony had marginal impact on the Knicks’ record, so you’ll still find the most engaging thing to come out of New York’s NBA team off the court. It’s probably this web series from Knicks rookies Landry Fields and Andy Rautins.

The Andy and Landry Show is a follow-up to Fields viral video stint as an undercover Modell’s Sporting Goods employee trying to sell his own jersey to unsuspecting customers and Fields and Rautin’s lip-synch performance of Go New York Go with YouTuber Keenan Cahill.

In the first installment of the series, Fields and Rautins visit the Shubert Theater in NYC to meet up with the cast of Memphis and learn an a cappella theme song for their web series, along with an accompanying dance routine. Hopefully the Knicks will be at least half as entertaining during their 2011 playoff run.
