For whatever reason the Brothers Fine decided to invoke a old western theme to their “Shooting Gallery”—perhaps a nod to the end of the ‘Wild West; in online video? (Seriously, that buzzphrase passed away gracefully in 2010 and should not be used hereafter.)

This is really five interacrtive games in one:

  • Bed Intruder Song RPG
  • Rescue the Chilean Miners Game
  • BP Oil Spill Game
  • LOST Alternate Ending
  • World Cup Soccer Game

Yes, The Fine Brothers are not afraid to admit their obsession with LOST, which must now come to an end. Sadly though Lindsay Lohan, who was click worthy enough to merit her own interactive game this fall, plus a web series of her own from the Fine’s, did not make the year-end game. American Idol, which notched its own 21-part interactive from the Brothers, also failed to make the year-end cut.

“Once annotations came to YouTube we saw the possibility for different types of interactivity,” the brothers told us on their blossoming love affair with interactives. “Since then have been taking interactives to new levels which started with more basic games such as Lindsay Lohan In Court, to the build your own sketch of our American Idol Interactive Experience. We have more surprises in store with infusing interactive content into our narrative content in 2011. This is the web, making a short form web series that is essentially just micro television is not enough. This is a whole new medium to be utilizing, time to step up or fall behind.”

And the videos appear to be performing for the Brothers, who’s main YouTube channel (thefinebros) is over 581,000 subscribers and nearly 50 million total views. “Interactives by their nature will get more views due to viewers watching more than one video in one sitting to complete the game, and since we have assured viewership thanks to our audience on YouTube, we automatically will get many more views as a whole.”

The Fine Brothers will be part of Tubefilter’s panel on interactive YouTube videos at this year’s SXSW Interactive Conference. Don’t even think about missing this pone if you’re making the trip to Austin this March.
