The Rocketboom Filmmakers Program invites emerging filmmakers to produce short films or short-run web series with the support and resources of Rocketboom. The program aims to nurture filmmakers by underwriting the production costs, making the resources of the Rocketboom content studio available, and distributing and promoting their work to a wide, online audience.

Save The Date, a 10-part situational comedy web series “following the social media mishaps among a group of friends

moments before two of them update their relationship status from engaged to married,” is the first product of the Rocketboom Filmmakers Program. The series takes place in real-time, and attempts to “exposes the misunderstandings that can occur when we rely on technology for facts, and when being too web-connected can interfere with rational thinking.”

The Coca-Cola sponsored series is produced by Leah D’Emilio and stars Rocketboom Daily host Mememolly. New episodes come out every Friday.
