‘Paper People Jokes’ Proves To Be A Real Cutup

Brandon Ray, the creator behind the popular interactive animated web series Paper People Jokes, for which viewers send in their favorite jokes to be animated with construction-paper cut-outs, announced the development of a new sister series Paper Cut highlighting the worst jokes sent in by viewers. The Paper Cut website features two well-shot promos mixing live action with Ray’s trademark animation.

The weekly series Paper People Jokes, now in its second season, has gained some traction during its impressive 44 consecutive weeks of distribution, garnering over 50,000 views across its website, Vimeo and YouTube channels. The Houston-based animator did a promo

for the Vimeo Festival + Awards and even created an award show himself, the Paper Peepy Awards, featuring the viewers’ favorite jokes and animated versions of their authors.

The announcement also shed light on future plans for a Paper People iPhone app “which will make it even easier for viewers to become a part of the joke-telling process:—allowing their voices to tell the jokes being animated.” The app is scheduled for release in October.
