'ArtLust' Sticks to What Works, Adds Sexy Smarts

It’s kind of a classic formula, these days; take nerdy, highly specialized field, add attractive women, stir for about two minutes, and ding – you’ve got a new web series. That’s the idea that worked for HotForWords (word of the day right now is “Donkey Punch”  – get it while it’s hot, fellas) and that’s what’s working for brand-new web series ArtLust, which is, naturally, about art, and, uh, lust.

ArtLust consists of roughly two minutes of Lauren Francesca waxing critically on a particular piece of art; the first episode is about “Lullaby Spring”, by British artist Damien Hirst, which at one point set the record for most expensive work of art sold by a living artist (19.2 million dollars!). The second episode

takes us back to Pablo Picasso’s ambiguously sexy “The Dream”.

I say “ambiguously sexy” because while the painting shows plenty of curves and skin, it’s nothing compared to ArtLust‘s hostess, Lauren Francesca, whose previous credits include Random Chick Dancing In A Bikini in an episode of Barely Political and was featured on The Daily Tush late last year. If you’re interested in more examples of her subtle appeal, ogle her acting-modeling reel.

Further episodes of ArtLust are expected to release every four or five days, and will cover Andy Warhol, Jeff Koons, and Shepard Fairey, among others. The show is sponsored by online art seller ArtsOrigin, so hopefully this means we’ll have plenty of ArtLust to come.
