Leaked: 'My Two Fans' Trailer From Max Goldenson's New Digital Production Company

Quarterlife bombshell Barret Swatek is starring in new series My Two Fans, a fictional 16-episode web series that follows the life of an average late 20’s single woman, Kate Maxwell, as she rebounds from a broken heart with the help of her two “fans.” The series, set to premiere on March 9th, comes from MWG Entertainment formed by veteran television and new media executive Max Goldenson (daughter of ABC Network founder and television pioneer, Leonard Goldenson).

“The formation of MWG allows me to create a company for the digital age just as my father created one for the analog age,” said Goldenson. “Our business model targets the under-served adult female audience that is internet-savvy and hungry for entertaining and accessible programming. As the first of what we hope will be many projects for this target audience, My Two Fans, created by Lauren Iungerich, is witty and topical, and could be a potential goldmine for sponsors looking to target a rapidly growing and very desirable audience.

Iungerich, who created and directed My Two Fans, has collaborated with Swatek before on the Funny Or Die web series Dating for Dumbasses. “Barret Swatek is the most brilliant comedic actress I know. I am so lucky to have had the opportunity to work with her. Not only is she talented, but she’s a brave actress—willing to do anything for the laugh,” Iungerich told us. “Max Goldenson and her executive Robert Kandle have been the best creative partners and producers—totally allowing me to have creative freedom to take my concept from inception to fruition without hindering the process. I also feel as a female writer and director that I have an opportunity to create content that is female-centric.”

Swatek, who played Brittany on Marshall Herskovitz’s crossover web series Quarterlife, tells us “I’m giddy about this project. Obviously, I had been introduced to the world of episodic web series having worked on Quarterlife—the “pioneer” of it all. I knew then that it was something I wanted to continue doing because the experience was so unique in all the right ways. I liken it to what independent film making was back in the late 80’s and early 90’s. You don’t have the constraints of studios or networks. There’s no one forcing you to give up your vision in order to make it commercial—no “notes,” no cast contingencies. You have the freedom to make your creative vision as you intended—a rarity these days.”

The show also features Kate’s “two fans” Franklin (Todd Felix of The Mentalist) and Teddy (Bill Escudier The Comeback, Bones) who, as fans—not friends—insert themselves into Kate’s life, and root her on through life’s ups and downs while cleaning up her dating disasters.

MWG tapped indie film friendly SmogTV co-founder Robert Kandle as VP of Development. “The opportunity to work with Max was a very attractive one. We have many things already in the works and My Two Fans is primed for a successful launch. Our goal is to be an artist-friendly company and one that will push the envelope in sculpting the future of professionally-produced content in the new media landscape.”
