There are very few differentiating factors between video platforms. I generally recommend Brightcove, blip.tv or VideoEgg, because all offer a quality consumer experience and the ability for producers to easily monetize. It seems, however, that blip.tv has continually won top-tier programming by championing creators and brokering deals.
The strategy has won the hearts of most independent internet producers, including ZeFrank and now Rocketboom — arguably the most popular Internet-TV shows.
blip.tv brokered a sponsorship deal with Comedy Central’s Sarah Silverman Show through New York-based advertising agency Deep Focus.
What
about that pretty Quicktime file on Rocketboom’s homepage? Looks like it’s there to stay. Rocketboom will run the first ever clickable overlay ads on Quicktime versions of the show, a technique pioneered by blip.tv.Other video platforms have begun recruiting top talent by offering advanced features, sponsorship or visibility, but it will be difficult to catch up to blip.tv’s astonishing momentum. From its beginning, blip.tv has built its business on relationships with producers… and it shows.
Congratulations to our friends at blip.tv and Rocketboom.
