Pulp Secret Delivers More than Booth Babes

After four days and a sellout 125,000+ visitor crowd, San Diego Comic Con 2007 wrapped up this past Sunday. In previous years, video coverage of the premiere multigenre fan convention in the world has focused on things, well, other than comics. Namely Trekkies-inspired questionings of costumed fans and girls. Lots of girls.

True, sexy women who may or may not know anything about comics dressed as your favorite superheroes are the things most fantasies are made of, but hardcore fans of sensational and lurid, illustrated tales would probably prefer some industry news and good gossip with their partial nudity.

Launched in March 2007 by Next New Networks, “the world’s first comic book network” marked its four-part Comic Con coverage by giving viewers an overall look at the fanatic scene, glimpses into panels with industry heavyweights, coverage of special events, and yes, a sprinkling of booth babes.

An interview with the creators of Black Metal – a comic book inspired by “satanic” Norwegian music that puts its heroes on a hellish, supernatural adventure – reports on a new Iron Man mini-series with arch-villian Fing Fang Foom, a talk with Cherry Darling from Grindhouse, and a few turns around the rumor mill paint a well-rounded picture of a convention that isn’t just about latex-covered t ‘n’ a.

Next New Network was designed to create content aimed specifically to niches with dedicated enthusiasts. With Pulp Secret, they’ve come to the rescue of comic fans everywhere.
