Netflix snags The Stokes Twins’ YouTube library as its next piece of creator content

Netflix is making another addition to its lineup of creator content, and this time, it’s adding two influencers for the price of one. Alan and Alex Stokes, an identical duo known as The Stokes Twins, have signed a deal that will bring an archive of their YouTube videos to Netflix.

A trailer uploaded to Netflix’s official YouTube channel describes Alan and Alex as “the internet’s most creative agents of chaos.” The fans who have flocked to The Stokes Twins’ YouTube channel to witness their secret rooms and historical retrospectives can now enjoy their pranks, challenges, and stunts on Netflix.

Since launching their joint channel in 2017, The Stokes Twins have become one of the biggest draws on YouTube. They reach 141 million subscribers and regularly rank among YouTube’s most-watched creators. They’ve been dependable brand partners, and there are even some international Stokes Twins fan channels that are more successful than most other hubs on the platform.

To leverage their YouTube success and turn their channel into a sustainable business, The Stokes Twins hired Mario Joos as their company’s CEO last year. Their Netflix move follows the lead of other creators who have improved their bottom lines by bringing their brands into the streaming world. Mark Rober, for example, saw his CrunchLabs sales go up after his content premiered on Netflix.

Other creators who have cut deals with Netflix include Alan Chikin Chow and Alix Earle. In the case of The Stokes Twins, the Netflix deal is non-exclusive, so those 141 million subscribers can keep hanging around on YouTube to catch the duo’s videos.

Beyond their repositioned YouTube content, The Stokes Twins will also work with Netflix on an original series that will premiere in 2027. “When we were kids, we didn’t always know how to fit in,” reads a statement attributed to Alex and Alan. “There were moments where we didn’t have a home, and when we first came to America, we didn’t even know how to speak the language. A camera became the way we connected with people before we fully had the words. We made videos to make other kids laugh, and somehow that turned into a community of hundreds of millions of people around the world. To now bring that journey to Netflix is bigger than a show for us. It feels like a full-circle moment.”

If Netflix wants more content from YouTube-famous twins, it doesn’t have to stop with the Stokeses. Ethan and Grayson Dolan, known collectively as The Dolan Twins, recently ended a five-year hiatus by returning to their joint YouTube channel. They’ve harbored Hollywood ambitions in the past, so perhaps they’ll be the next brotherly duo to join the Netflix family.
