There’s a new #1 in this week’s Global Top 50. Throughout August, Double Date has dominated our rankings, as have related couple channels Cadel and Mia and Jasmin and James. During the last full week of August, each of those channels fell at least three spots each.

In their stead, KIMPRO has reassumed a familiar position atop our worldwide viewership chart. The Korean channel known for its short-form output picked up 1.8 billion weekly views as it brought its lifetime YouTube viewership above 100 billion hits.
The craftsman channels are getting even craftier
It’s time for our semiannual check-in on the world of short-form “crafts” channel. I’m not talking about slime creators, art makers, or anything like that. In the parlance of YouTube Shorts (and our Top 50 charts in particular), “crafts” usually refers to videos that feature skilled tradesmen, eclectic machines, and oddly satisfying processes.
We’ve explored that phenomenon through channels like Gulbahar Technical and Mavi Gadget, the latter of which was once a mainstay at the top of our Tubefilter charts. There are some other crafts channels in this week’s Global Top 50, but I noticed a commonality linking a few of them: The creators behind those hubs are getting hungry.
Food, like machinery, is a popular topic on YouTube Shorts. Culinary creators like Nick DiGiovanni have become regulars in our rankings, and why not? No matter where you’re from in the world, everyone has to eat.
Daily Crafts is one of the channels that has recognized and exploited the link between “crafts” videos and food content. Like many of the hubs that fall into the former of those buckets, Daily Crafts gets its views by repurposing East Asian videos for Arabic-language markets. It translates craftsman content with a particular emphasis on farms.
Among Daily Crafts’ most-watched short-form uploads, several videos depict unique ways to harvest watermelons. The #1 Daily Crafts short is driven by a high-powered pasta cutter, and yes, it certainly qualifies as “oddly satisfying.”
The focus on farms has worked wonders for Daily Crafts. With 530.9 million weekly views, the short-form hub moved from 78th place up to 33rd in the Top 50. It got 51% more views compared to the previous week’s tally.
Farm Crafts is similar to Daily Crafts in many ways, and I’m not just talking about their respective names. Farm Crafts got 665.5 million weekly views by adding Arabic titles to some of the most amusing farm-set content from East Asia. This time last year, Farm Crafts didn’t exist on YouTube, but despite its young age, it is now the 17th-most watched channel on all of YouTube.
Such is the power of oddly satisfying farm equipment. These tools don’t just aid in the planting, growing, and harvesting of crops — they also open up new avenues for revenue generation on the short-form side of the internet.
Right now, content aggregators seem to be doing the best job of finding and sharing those videos. How long before the farmers themselves get in on the fun?
