NBA star and media personality Stephen Curry is re-teaming with Portal A on the second season his YouTube series 5 Minutes From Home, whose first season — featuring online luminary Rudy Mancuso — nabbed a collective 21 million views after bowing last spring.
On the Lyft-sponsored show, Curry and celebrity guests cruise through Oakland, Calif., to grab a post-game meal while chatting about sports, music, family, and more. Curry counts 456,00 subscribers on his YouTube channel where, in addition to 5 Minutes, he also shares assorted updates, challenges, and vlogs. (Curry’s wife, Ayesha, is a YouTube star in her own right, with 546,000 subscribers on her cooking and lifestyle channel).
5 Minutes is produced by Curry’s Unanimous Media, digital studio Portal A, and Lyft Entertainment — the ride-hailing app’s original content division. Season two will feature five episodes with appearances from fellow NBA star Joel Embiid (pictured above), rapper E-40, actor-singer Daveed Diggs, Olympic swimmer Katie LeDecky, pro gamers Myth (4.3 million subscribers) and Hamlinz (1.1 million subscribers), and Riley Morrison — a nine-year-old girl with whom Curry co-designed a sneaker after she wrote him a letter asking why she couldn’t find his designs in her size.
