“All good dates must come to an end”: Amelia Dimoldenberg says goodbye to ‘Chicken Shop Date’

After 12 years and more than 100 episodes, Amelia Dimoldenberg is bringing her signature series to an end. On Instagram, the 32-year-old Brit announced that an upcoming run of interviews will serve as the swan song for Chicken Shop Date.

With Chicken Shop Date, which began as a column before evolving into a web series, Dimoldenberg turned herself into a household name. She paired her flirty, deadpan interview style with a long list of high-profile guests, ranging from Andrew Garfield to Sabrina Carpenter to fellow fried chicken interviewer Sean Evans.

Chicken Shop Date certainly hasn’t outlived its popularity — it was one of the shows YouTube hyped as part of a 2024 For Your Consideration push — but Dimoldenberg is ready for a change. Her farewell post shows a chicken shop napkin, on which she wrote, “all good dates must come to an end.”

“I never thought I’d stop Chicken Shop Date, I thought maybe it would be a part of me forever, and in some way it always will, but I feel like it’s now time to move on from this adventure and onto a new one,” reads Dimoldenberg’s Instagram post

. “But before I say goodbye forever, I want to celebrate everything Chicken Shop Date has been for me with a few final dates…coming very soon.”

We don’t have to speculate about Dimoldenberg’s next moves, because she has stayed busy even when she’s not holding court in a chicken shop. Her appearances on the Golden Globes red carpet and in the passenger’s seat of F1 vehicles have given her additional opportunities to show off her interviewing skills. Meanwhile, her production company Dimz Inc. has ventured deeper into the creator economy. At the 2026 Sundance Film Festival, Adobe announced a creative skills program launched in tandem with Dimz Inc.

As if Dimoldenberg doesn’t have enough on her plate already, she also harbors ambitions in Hollywood. A 2022 representation deal with CAA forecasted the next steps on her multi-hyphenate career path, and she is now embarking on that journey. At the Edinburgh TV Festival, Dimoldenberg announced that she is working on a scripted series for the BBC, which she described as “my version of Skins.”

Even with Chicken Shop Date coming to an end, Dimoldenberg’s fans don’t need to worry that she’ll fade from the pop culture zeitgeist. She’s planning to expand her career, even if it means trading the fast food joints for some more elegant settings.
