Amazon’s ‘Beast Games’ PR sweep brings Jimmy Donaldson to Roblox, chart-topping podcasts

The first season of MrBeast‘s ambitious and controversial series Beast Games is due out on December 19, and the projects promotional tour is bringing its headlining star to Roblox. That’s where a branded Beast Games experience will allow players to take part in MrBeast-style challenges that will deliver on-platform prizes to winners.

The details we know about the Beast Games Roblox experience come from Roblox strategist and consultant James Purell, who posted a screenshot of the upcoming partnership on his LinkedIn page. Purell noted that the experience is due to kick off on Beast Games‘ release date, with weekly challenges planned and $5 million of payouts set to be delivered. An in-game currency called “Beast Bucks” is also part of the plan.

Creators like Typical Gamer have already capitalized on the popularity of gamified experiences within Roblox, but this will be Jimmy Donaldson‘s first big foray into a world that already adores all things MrBeast. As Donaldson dives into that community, he is working with studio Twin Atlas and enlisting help from notable Roblox creators like Minitoon, Socksfor1,

and RB Battles. He’s also getting an assist from longtime associates like Karl Jacobs (who has become a seasoned metaverse developer in his own right).

Some Roblox players may be hesitant to embrace a series that was marred by numerous participant complaints during its production cycle, but Donaldson is pulling out all the stops to make sure Beast Games attracts as much attention as possible. He showed up as Theo Von‘s guest on an episode of This Past Weekend, the podcast that ranks 11th on Spotify’s U.S. charts (as of the publication of this article).

Will this vast promotional tour convince Prime Video subscribers to overlook the production issues and ensuing lawsuit that have plagued Beast Games? Amazon is counting on MrBeast to deliver one of the biggest shows ever, and we’re about to find out whether the resulting project lives up to the hype.
