La Velada is back: Ibai’s record-breaking influencer boxing event is returning in July

On July 13, fans are expected to fill up Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, the 80,000-seat home of soccer club Real Madrid. On that night, the venue’s typical tenants won’t be taking the pitch. Instead, the Bernabéu will play host to La Velada del Año IV, the latest installment of the world’s most prominent influencer boxing event.

The previous three iterations of La Velada del Año (which translates to “the night of the year”) were organized by Ibai Llanos, a Spanish streaming star who counts more than 15 million followers on his namesake Twitch channel. Ibai is returning to put on the fourth go-around of his influencer boxing spectacular, and this edition of the event is getting an upgrade. After La Velada III drew 70,000 fans to Madrid’s Civitas Metropolitano stadium, Ibai is taking the proceedings across town to a legendary sports venue.

The move to the Bernabéu makes sense, given the immense hype that has surrounded the previous three Veladas. Back in 2022, the second edition of the event broke the Twitch record

for the most concurrent viewers, and Ibai set that mark even higher with La Velada III in 2023. The reigning Event of the Year at the Premios ESLAND could set records once again in 2024, since Ibai is planning to stream the proceedings on his Twitch account.

A long list of celebrity guests will also help La Velada IV draw interest. Popular streamers like El Mariana and La Cobra will compete across four individual matches, and the fight card also includes a two-on-two match as well as a “King of the Ring” free-for-all that will include ten participants.

The fights will be interspersed with musical performances from the likes of BizarrapAnuel, and even Will Smith, who will make sure that everybody in the Bernabéu is getting jiggy with it.

The event will start at 12 PM ET (6 PM local time) on the 13th. Las Veladas are always good for a few surprises, so make sure to tune in if you want to catch all the updates.
