YouTube, Mythical, Smosh, Roblox, and more: A peek at Open Sauce’s Industry Day programming

Open Sauce, the San Francisco-based STEM convention that’s expecting to host 150+ content creators, 500+ exhibitors, and 20,000+ attendees June 14-16, is adding an industry track featuring speakers from YouTube, Mythical, Smosh, Roblox, Kajabi, and more.

The convention, founded by science YouTuber William Osman (3 million subscribers), held its debut event in 2023, and featured a main stage with a constant rotation of panels and workshops for creators’ fans and fellow STEM enthusiasts.

This year, it’s amping up programming with an industry stage where presentations will zero in on the impact of artificial intelligence. A full day of programming on June 14 will “[gather] leaders in AI on how the technology will impact tech businesses and engineering and how we can best harness its power,” Open Sauce says.

We’re dropping the complete list of industry track presenters below (with more to be announced in the leadup to Open Sauce), but to give you a taste, they include: YouTube’s Creator Liaison Rene Ritchie; Amjad Hanif, VP of Product Management at YouTube; Alessandra Catanese, CEO of Smosh; Gwen Miller, Senior Director of Creator Growth at Mythical; Kyle Price, Chief of Staff and Corporate Development at Roblox; and Sean Kim, CPO of Kajabi.

“Our team is so excited to announce a remarkable lineup of speakers for Open Sauce’s first Industry Day, each of whom brings unparalleled expertise in their fields,” Osman says. “With leaders at the forefront of Artificial General Intelligence and top video creators who’ve expanded their influence beyond content creation, this will be one of the first events to explore how technology is used to reach and effectively communicate with enormous audiences. Attendees will learn modern online marketing and how AI can be used to reach your future users. We look forward to conversations which will undoubtedly shape the future of technology and creativity.”

Industry Day will be followed by two days of main stage programming that covers everything from STEM content creation to very big robots (see embed above) to 3D printing, game development, RC aviation, and more.

In addition to Industry Day, main stage presentations, and creator programming, Open Sauce will have 500+ exhibitors with interactive showcases spread throughout the convention. Exhibitors include the previously announced Exosapien Technologies, Arc Attack, and Battlebots, plus a jet engine-powered go-kart, a nuclear fusor, a 16-foot keyboard, a “backyard rocket engine,” the “world’s fastest Rubik’s Cube-solving robot,” kinetic art made with the Playa Crawler (aka the “walking wheelchair”), and a real-life rendition of Flappy Bird (RIP, buddy).
