The second full week of February was a big moment for streamer-centric award shows. On February 14, Hispanic and Latino creators came together for the Premios Esland, an annual celebration led by Spanish streamer TheGrefg. Three days later, QTCinderella took the stage at The Wiltern in Los Angeles for the third edition of the Streamer Awards, which she has produced and co-hosted each year since 2022.
The latter of those two shows hauled in more traffic on Twitch. According to Streams Charts, the 2024 Streamer Awards hit a peak of more than 645,000 concurrent viewers. Less than half of that audience watched QTCinderella’s broadcast on her personal Twitch account; co-streams from big names like Jynxzi and CaseOh (both of whom were nominated for Streamer of the Year) added thousands of viewers to the total audience.
All five Streamer of the Year nominees (Jynxzi, CaseOh, Kai Cenat, Ironmouse, and Quackity) took home at least trophy during the February 17 ceremony, but Cenat was the night’s biggest winner. The Twitch record-breaker repeatead as Streamer of the Year, earned the title of Best Just Chatting Streamer, and nabbed a third trophy alongside his pals from the creator group AMP.

Cenat did not accept his Streamer of the Year win in person, but he did send along a pre-recorded acceptance speech. “2023 from start to finish, from January to December, I put in my hardest amount of work,” Cenat said.
Despite Cenat’s absence, the 2024 Streamer Awards had an audience filled with creators. QTCinderella took shots at some of the most prominent attendees in an irreverent monologue she delivered before co-host Pokimane joined her on stage. She called Jynxzi “the only Rainbow Six player with a job” and insulted Quackity as part of a joke about manufactured drama. (The Mexican streamer is known for his rabid fanbase, which includes more than six million followers on Twitch.)
Quackity did show up for the Streamer Awards, but he was one of several notable absentees at the Premios Esland, which experienced a viewership dip one year after smashing Twitch records. Per Streams Charts, the 2024 Premios peaked at 475,000 concurrent viewers. Top Spanish-language streamers like Ibai, Auronplay, and Rubius may have affected the show’s numbers by declining to attend in person.
Rubius explained that he didn’t show up so that other streamers could have time in the spotlight. He got his wish: IlloJuan, who reaches four million Twitch followers, nabbed the top prize at the 2024 Premios.
