Atmosfy combines the short-form video focus of TikTok with the location-based social networking of Foursquare. The app offers video reviews of local restaurants and businesses, which are sourced from the community of Atmosfy influencers. The app advertises itself as a tool creators can use to engage with fans at a “hyperlocal” scale through meet-and-greets and other events.

When choosing the creators who will benefit from its equity fund, Atmosfy will consider a variety of factors. It will screen applicants for brand fit while also measuring their respective contributions to the Atmosfy community. With its equity-based approach to funding, Atmosfy is following a notable trend in the creator economy. Companies like Karat have helped influencers become investors in their own right.
