Spotter enlists Colin and Samir to roll out title brainstorming tool

Spotter and Colin and Samir have teamed up to make video titles go boom. The creator economy company has teamed up with the esteemed YouTube duo to roll out Title Exploder, an AI-driven tool that helps users come up with the perfect hook.

Title Exploder is a product of Spotter Labs, the AI-powered wing of catalog licensing pioneer Spotter. As creators query ChatGPT in order to come up with title, video, and thumbnail ideas, Spotter is bringing fine controls to that AI-generated content. After putting a working title into the Exploder, creators can edit it in four different ways: Explode, Shorten, Rewrite, and Reverb.

The Explode option generates 40 alternative title ideas inspired by the original input. Shorten truncates the title, Rewrite injects it with a little creativity, and Reverb changes its primary verb. Once a title has been exploded, creators can access a “this, but” option, which allows them to select a new title and continue with further edits.

Title Exploder is still fairly new, and its use is currently limited to creators who have been funded by Spotter. That’s where Colin and Samir come in. The podcast hosts are longtime partners of Spotter; they headlined its Spotter Summit

earlier this year.

Now, they’ll help choose the 20 test subjects who will get early access to Title Exploder. In a post on X, they invited creators to apply if they want to check out “one of the best brainstorming partners in our creative process.”

The request form for Title Exploder access can be found here. Interested creators can peruse the official contest rules as well.

Applications will be open through the week of August 14, with Spotter announcing its 20 selections on August 21. The chosen creators will include “a diverse mix of genres, locations, audiences, and more,” but they’ll all have at least one thing in common: Title Exploder applicants must get at least one million monthly long-form views on YouTube in order to qualify for the new channel.
