60,000 tickets have been sold for the sequel to the most-watched Twitch broadcast of all time

Last year, an event called La Velada Del Año II set the record for the most concurrent viewers on a single Twitch stream. The third chapter of that influencer boxing series is coming on July 1, and it could be the biggest Velada yet. The organizer of the event, Spanish streaming star Ibai Llanos, needed only an hour to sell out all 60,000 tickets for La Velada Del Año III.

The third edition of La Velada Del Año (which translates to “The Night of the Year”) will feature matchups between top content creators in the Spanish-speaking world. Participants will include Mexican gamer Rivers and Salvadoran YouTube star Fernanfloo. In addition, an American streamer is joining the Velada fight card for the first time. Amouranth, who has trained alongside other influencer-boxers, will face off against Spanish personality Mayichi.

In addition to boxing, La Velada Del Año III will also include musical performances. The list of acts who will play the buzzy event includes Puerto Rican singer-songwriter Ozuna.

With such a star-studded lineup, it’s no surprise that tickets to La Velada Del Año III went fast. After announcing the event, Ibai took to Twitter to thank his fans for buying all 60,000 tickets in a single hour.

That level of fan interest is not unusual for Ibai. The sequel edition of La Velada Del Año peaked at 3.3 million concurrent viewers, breaking Twitch record set by Ibai’s Spanish compatriot David Canovas Martinez, a.k.a. TheGrefg. Martinez named Ibai the Streamer of the Year at his annual award show, Los Premios Esland.

Since Los Premios, Ibai has continued his hot streak. He joined forces with other streamers and pro athletes to bring 90,000 fans to Barcelona’s Camp Nou stadium for an alternative soccer match. That event was put on by Kosmos, the entertainment company co-founded by Spanish soccer star Gerard Pique. Kosmos is also playing a role in the production of La Velada Del Año III.

With so much fan interest and star power, Ibai’s next Velada has a chance to reach more record-breaking territory. The stream will go live on Ibai’s Twitch channel on July 1.
