Rooster Teeth’s creator mentorship program is back

Rooster Teeth‘s Digital Creators Program is back for a second year.

First launched in March 2022, the Digital Creators Program is “designed to identify and develop aspiring and emerging digital content creators to widen diverse, equitable, and inclusive representation,” per Rooster Teeth.

Creators selected for the program “will receive education and training on production, marketing, business development, technical skills, content development, branded content, partnerships, writing workshops, improv training, media training, and more,” it adds.

The program’s inaugural class (chosen by Rooster Teeth and execs from its partner Warner Bros. Discovery Access) included ChelseaBytes, Christian Henley, DaGeecheeGamer, eyezcosplay, Katskratchh, Jabren, Girlthulhu, and Reem Eden.

During their three-month mentorship, these creators met with executives from Warner Bros. Discovery, worked on professional video sets, and filmed sponsored content with Rooster Teeth/Warner Bros. Discovery partners. They also raised $10,000 for children’s charity org Extra Life.

“The first year of this program uncovered so much incredible underrepresented talent who aim to broaden their professional opportunities and grow their audiences online,” Jejuan Guillory, Rooster Teeth’s Head of Programming & Development, said in a statement. “These creators have raw skills and remarkable stories to tell, and it’s been amazing to see how they’ve grown their networks after collaborating with the WBD teams.”

This year’s cohort will be mentored by an advisory council of executives from Rooster Teeth and Warner Bros. Discovery, including Jennifer Dill

(VP Gaming & Women’s Sports Strategy, WBD), Jason Dimberg (VP Social Strategy, DC & Global Brands & Franchises), Jessica Vargas (Director Multicultural Marketing, HBO Max), Drew Muller (VP, House of Highlights), Carlos Salcines (VP, Multicultural Marketing, WB Pictures), Toren Weiner (VP Social, Food Network), Geoff Ramsey (Founder, Rooster Teeth), and Barbara Dunkelman (Channel Manager/Content Creator, Rooster Teeth).

Advisory council members will give masterclasses and workshops throughout the cohort’s mentorship, Rooster Teeth says, and will work with participants on branded content.

Participants will also shadow Rooster Teeth producers and appear on camera across Rooster Teeth’s various content channels (like Achievement Hunter, Funhaus, All Good No Worries, and Inside Gaming), and podcasts (like 30 Morbid Minutes, Red Web, Face Jam, and the Rooster Teeth Podcast).

When the three-month mentorship ends, Rooster Teeth/Warner Bros. Discovery will hold a “talent showcase” where participants will display their work. The companies say some participants “may be eligible” for a one-year Rooster Teeth talent contract once they complete the program.

Applications for this cohort open today, April 20, and close May 7 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific. Interested creators can see the application form here.
