Nine months after announcing his colon cancer diagnosis to his TikTok followers, Randy Gonzalez has passed away. The Texas native, who appeared on the Enkyboys account alongside his son Brice, was 35 years old.
The Enkyboys gained prominence on TikTok thanks to their lip-sync videos. Their musical moments brought 15.7 million followers to their TikTok account, where their vertical videos have received nearly 300 million likes.
The father-son duo was able to entertain audiences beyond TikTok. Brice has been cast in projects alongside big names like Eva Longoria, Kevin Hart, and George Lopez. Brice portrays Lopez’s grandson on the NBC sitcom Lopez vs. Lopez, and the show’s star sent his love to the Gonzalez family. “My sincerest condolences to Brice and the entire Gonzalez family,” Lopez wrote on Instagram. “The love and the bond Randy had for his son and his family was undeniable, you can see it in every video. He will be missed, but never forgotten. My heart goes out to the entire family.”
The Enkyboys were also two of the creators who were referenced in promotional Denny’s menu items. The “Get That Cookie Dough Pancakes” debuted at the chain last year.
Even after revealing his cancer diagnosis, the elder Gonzalez did not lose his positive spirit. He used his ordeal as an opportunity to encourage regular colon cancer screenings and colonoscopies. “I can use my situation to give awareness for young men like myself,” he said.

Gonzalez’s death is the latest blow in a tough month for the online video community. Shortly before the new year, fellow lip-syncer Keenan Cahill passed away. Days later, branded content pioneer Ken Block died in a snowmobile accident
