$50,000 is up for grabs in Stephen Curry’s Snap Spotlight Challenge

This week, Stephen Curry will participate in two competitions that showcase incredible athletic ability. One is the NBA Playoffs, which begin over the weekend. The other is the #AlmostPro challenge on Snap‘s Spotlight platform, which will award $50,000 to the contestants who demonstrate the best sports skills.

Curry tends to get real busy this time of year, but he found time to announce the challenge in a brief video on Snap. The criteria seem intentionally vague, and Curry did not elaborate on what he means by “your most impressive sports skills.” The reward structure, however, is crystal clear. The winner will take home $25,000, the runner-up will earn $15,000, and the remaining $10,000 will go to the third-place finisher.

#AlmostPro is the latest celebrity-sponsored contest hosted by Snap’s TikTok competitor. The Kardashians and Mariah Carey have each launched Spotlight Challenges with six-figure prize pools. Curry’s dealings with Snap go beyond its short-form hub, as he is also the titular star of Level Up with Stephen Curry

, which was announced in Snap’s latest round of original series. Level Up, which is produced by Curry’s Unanimous Media and the always-busy Portal A, follows the Warriors guard as he empowers and mentors young people.

The five-day submission window for #AlmostPro will close on April 15. If you want to enter your best sports skills into the conversation, you can find the challenge on Spotlight.

If you’re reading this article after April 15, don’t worry, because there will surely be another Spotlight Challenge soon. Snap has pledged to bring its short-form competitions to additional markets beyond the U.S. In the meantime, the platform is delivering “millions per month” to the creators of popular Spotlight videos.
