Banking App ‘Current’ Taps TikToker Rahul Rai, Airrack For Inaugural Holiday Campaign

Current, the Gen Z-aimed banking app that has made influencer collaborations a crucial component of its marketing strategy, has just launched its first-ever holiday campaign.

To celebrate the spendy time of year — and promote its Overdrive feature. which enables users to overdraft up to $100 without any fees — the company has unveiled its No Wish Declined spot starring actor and TikToker Rahul Rai, who has 4 million followers. The faux-film trailer is inspired by classic holiday movies like Miracle on 34th St, The Holiday, and Elf, Current  says.

In addition, Current has tapped creators like Airrack, Drew Gooden, and Cody Ko to give away a total of $70,000. MMG, Kurtis Conner, QCP, Nick DiGiovanni, Kaz Sawyer, and Paulina Torres will be hosting giveaways in the lead-up to Christmas, as well as paying for customers’ purchases in-store at the last minute with their Current cards.
