Matt and Stephanie Patrick, the OG YouTube duo behind the beloved Game Theorists brand, are bringing back an annual fundraising event for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
On Nov. 30, which is Giving Tuesday, the Patricks will host their third annual charity stream, with a goal of raising at least $1 million for St. Jude to fight childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. They are very likely to surpass that sum, giving that last year’s 10-hour stream raised a stunning $3.1 million for the research hospital. That was a sizable increase over the inaugural stream in 2019, which raised $1.3 million.
The third event will welcome special guests including MrBeast, Markiplier, Dream, and Corpse Husband — complete with interactive competitions with fundraising components, musical performances, video game face-offs, and heartwarming patient stories. YouTube Originals
will serve as the title of the event. The Game Theorists broadcast was first announced in September in order to get fans involved. Through the month of October, The Game Theorists launched a campaign challenging fans to fundraise on their own for St. Jude, with top donors winning the opportunity to attend this year’s event in person.
Giving Tuesday is part of a larger push by St. Jude — which frequently works with influencers as key fundraising allies — for the holidays dubbed Thanks And Giving.
