Liza Koshy is coming back to Netflix.
The Work It star has signed on to a new romantic comedy titled Players. The film will follow a New York City sportswriter, played by Gina Rodriguez, who regularly devises hookup schemes with her best friend, played by Damon Wayans Jr., but who ultimately ends up falling for one of their targets, The Hollywood Reporter reports. It is unclear what role Koshy will play.
Also appearing in the film are Kissing Booth star Joel Courtney, Augustus Prew of Amazon’s forthcoming Lord Of The Rings prequel series, and Tom Ellis. Players will be directed by Pitch Perfect 3’s Trish Sie from a script by Whit Anderson. The film is being produced by Marc Platt and Ryan Christians of Marc Platt Productions.
Koshy’s first turn at Netflix was Work It — an Alicia Keys-produced dance film about a ragtag high school dance squad. The 25-year-old signed an overall deal with Will Smith’s Westbrook Inc. late last year. In addition to her entertainment ventures, she’s also a beauty entrepreneur, having launched a capsule makeup and skincare brand called One Of One in collaboration with the upstart C’est Moi Beauty.
