Broadway stars Wayne Brady, Tituss Burgess, Andrew Barth Feldman, and Ashley Park will headline the TikTok-born Ratatouille musical.
The for-charity show, nicknamed “Ratatousical,” is based on Disney/Pixar’s 2007 animated film about Remy, a Parisian rat chasing his culinary dreams. It began baking in August, when TikToker Emily Jacobsen uploaded a short original “love ballad” praising “Remy, the ratatouille, the rat of my dreams.” Her clip caught the eye of New York City-based composer Daniel Mertzlufft, who came back with a version arranged for a full-scale stage ensemble.
Other TikTokers and composers chimed in with their own creations, and the rest was haricot vert.

According to the newly revealed cast list, Ratatousical will feature Burgess as Remy; Feldman as Remy’s hapless human friend Alfredo Linguini; Brady as Remy’s father Django; Park as show-no-mercy chef Colette Tatou; Kevin Chamberlain as Remy’s culinary idol Auguste Gusteau; André De Shields
and Owen Tabaka as notorious food critic Anton Ego; Adam Lambert as Remy’s brother Emile; Mary Testa as Skinner, Linguini’s slimy boss; and Priscilla Lopez as Mabel, who unwittingly plays host to Remy’s rat clan. The musical will premiere Jan. 1 at 7 p.m. Eastern, and will be available via video-on-demand through Jan. 4. Tickets (which include the premiere and VOD streaming) start at $5, although viewers can choose to pay up to $100. Proceeds from the show will go to the charitable Actors Fund.
Jacobsen and other TikTokers who contributed material to Ratatousical are being “credited and compensated,” per the musical’s website. The site also notes that Disney is not involved with the production, but “they are excited to see fans engage with Disney stories, and they applaud and thank all of the online theatre makers whose work on Ratatouille: The TikTok Musical will benefit The Actors Fund.”
