Instagram Rolls Out Ability To Pin Three Comments To The Top Of Any Thread

Instagram is going wide with a new feature that will enable creators to clean up their comments — and get their most pressing takeaways about any posts straight to the top.

After testing the ability to pin comments back in May, per The Verge, Instagram is officially rolling out the ability for creators to pin three comments to the top of any thread. To pin, creators need only swipe left on a comment, whereupon a new pushpin icon will appear next to the existing options to report, delete, or reply.

The Verge notes that the pinned comments test arrived alongside a bulk-deletion tool — another anti-bullying measure that enables creators to delete up to 25 comments at once, as well as block multiple accounts in one swoop. Other efforts undertaken by Instagram to clean up comments include the development of artificial intelligence that can automatically block offensive comments, and similar A.I. tools that warn users before they post comments that are potentially harmful.
