Jessica Alba Drops Beauty Interview Series On Newly-Launched YouTube Channel

Jessica Alba is the latest celebrity to launch a YouTube series in quarantine — and the actress and entrepreneur is joining the platform’s bustling beauty community.

In Getting Honest: Skincare Edition — a nod to Alba’s nine-year-old ethical goods brand The Honest Company and cosmetics firm Honest Beauty — Alba will sit down with friends as they chat through their skin care routines. Alba’s first guest on the show is NBA star Blake Griffin, who shares his thoughts on self-care as well as the products he reaches for before bed.

Alba launched her YouTube channel roughly three months ago, and has garnered 115,000 subscribers and 3.2 million views to date. After launching the venture in a collab video with beloved beauty creator Patrick Starrr, Alba has since seized on numerous popular YouTube formats, including ASMR, cooking videos, storytimes, and more.

In addition to YouTube, Alba has also started becoming active on TikTok in recent months, where she counts 5.2 million followers.

Other traditional stars who have sought to harness YouTube as a vehicle to connect with fans amid the coronavirus pandemic include John Krasinski, Reese Witherspoon, and Josh Gad. Krasinski launched the Some Good News series, which eventually sold to ViacomCBS, while Witherspoon debuted #ShineOnAtHome, in which she interviews lifestyle experts about how to persist through the pandemic and beyond. Gad, for his part, hosts Reunited Apart, featuring nostalgic reunions of casts from hit 80s and 90s films.
