Scotty Sire, the Vlog Squad member-turned-rap artist, released his sophomore album What’s Going On on Monday.
The album, which peaked at No. 10 on the iTunes pop charts, speaks to Sire’s struggles with anxiety, and was inspired by some of his favorite artists, including Twenty One Pilots, Panic! At The Disco, and Busta Rhymes. Sire has made it a core part of his content to fight the stigmas surrounding mental health issues. He recently participated in a suicide prevention campaign produced by The Ad Council and Movember dubbed Man Of More Words, which seeks to get men to open up about their emotions.
What’s Going On consists of 10 tracks, and the album is currently available to stream on Spotify and Apple Music. The release was accompanied by a music video for the title track yesterday (below), and will also see Sire kicking off the What’s Going On Tour. The show — which features appearances by fellow vlogger Toddy Smith and musicians Bruce Wiegner and Chris Bloom — will launch this weekend in Australia and consist of roughly 25 dates, concluding in Los Angeles on Nov. 15.
Sire, who initially rose to fame on Vine, counts 7 million followers across all platforms, and 390 million lifetime YouTube views. Sire’s first full-length album, Ruin Your Party, was self-funded and peaked at No. 7 on the iTunes pop charts (and No. 55 overall) upon its debut last October.
